Suggestions on recourse for Oil Change screw up?

I took my '98 Stratus to have the oil changed at a local quick lube on Saturday. Upon pulling the filter they noticed the threads on the filter adapter had been cross threaded. They were unable to put the new one on due to the degree of damage done to the threads. My last oil change was at Valvoline Instant Oil change. I have the receipt (which they initially denied my having serviced my vehicle) as well as the filter from the vehicle with the date, initials of the techs and clearly shows the threads on the filter are also damaged. I have the part ordered (adapter) but it will be 3 days before it will be in. Not expensive, $81.00 but a hassle none the less. The manager at the place that discovered the problem will verify that it was damaged when they pulled it as well as the condition of the filter that was pulled. Any suggestions? Since looking it looks like the quick lube places screw up alot. I will be doing my own oil changes all the time now.Suggestions on recourse for Oil Change screw up?
If they won't pay you can sue in small claims court.

Find a real repair shop to patronize from now on.Suggestions on recourse for Oil Change screw up?
Are these two separate oil change places, the last one and this one? Its pretty hard to screw up the threads on the filter. Yes, I agree the only recourse it do it at home, but then the other recourse is find someone who cares and stick with them.Suggestions on recourse for Oil Change screw up?
If you know how to change the oil yourself, it is always better to do your own work rather than some highschool kid that doesn't care about your car, ya know....sorry bout your threads!
