'01 Ram 2500 Diesel 226,750 miles worth it?

I'm looking at buying a truck and I came across this '01 Dodge Ram 2500 24v Cummins Turbo Diesel 6 speed with about 226,750 miles on it. I test drove it and it drove wonderfully. Dealer says it was a 1 owner truck. They are asking $16,999 for it but NADA price guide says its only worth $12k. I didn't think that it would be a good idea to pay over value for a truck. Is it really worth it, or is the dealer asking way too much?'01 Ram 2500 Diesel 226,750 miles worth it?
You can never pay too much for an American made truck.

It's just breaking in with 226,000 miles.'01 Ram 2500 Diesel 226,750 miles worth it?
Never pay more than book for a vehicle. Also, why buy a noisy stinky Diesel. If you are using the truck as a TRUCK buy a heavy hauler like this. If you are not pulling or hauling anything very heavy do not buy! Also, the Cummins will eventually need service. Very, Very expensive! Tears will run down your cheeks! Forget it! Also, almost any vehicle dealer will screw you blind! Bring an expert with you when you shop for anything that you know nothing about!'01 Ram 2500 Diesel 226,750 miles worth it?
That's a LOT of money for an engine with that many miles on it, and for a

ten year old truck. I wouldn't go for it, unless you really can't find that model anywhere else and you plan on putting a new engine in it.
That is your call to make, though, I do not believe an 11-model year old truck of that ilk is worth that much.

Nothing against a dealer thinking that isht doesn't stink. Pay it or do9n't.
