What Do I Do About My Car?

I took my car to National Tire and Battery on April 2, 2011 for my March car inspection. The person inspecting the car had me pull into the parking lot and had me turn on my lights and turn signals and then had me drive to the door for him to add oil and other fluids to my car. My car NEVER entered the inside of the garage for the wheels to be looked at or for my brakes to be checked. Another mechanic then came over and put on an inspection sticker and then I was done. Now I found out that the rods on the struts are so bad and cracked that my car shouldn't have passed inspection. Struts ARE a part of safety for having a car inspected in PA. What can I do? My cousin is a mechanic and gave me a list of codes that were violated and it's now a possibility my car is invalid. I have a 4 year old so I don't want to mess with anything but I need to get this resolved. People shouldn't be allowed to inspect cars and pass ones that highly dangerous. Do I contact a lawyer? The company that inspected my car? The BBB? Can anyone help? What Do I Do About My Car?
I wish you had listed the year, make and model of your car so we could try to figure tot what you mean by "rods" on your struts. I've got to believe these are your anti-roll bar "links" between the side of the strut body and the anti-roll bar. These are not expensive and easy to replace.
they just slapped the sticker on it without checking it out? i live in PA too and i want my car safe when i hit the roads. go tell the state police what they did and his license could be lifted and a heavy fine to pay. here where i live you can have the police check your car and if they find out it,s not safe all they have to do is look at the sticker. the inspection guys name is at the bottom. What Do I Do About My Car?
They messed up. Tell them that you will need to contact the state police safety inspector to challenge this inspection if they do not make your car safe. They are responsible. If you live in a county with emissions the phone number is on the bottom of the report and their web site is on your license plate.
The State Highway Patrol usually handles the State Inspectors. Call them and they will look at your car and pull the guys license for doing a crapy job! It sucks cause he will probably get fired for it! But thats the priceWhat Do I Do About My Car?
if your car is sick get it repaired, for your safety and others
