Where do you all get your oil changes done?

Just curious where everyone goes for oil changes. Please list what state you live in and your experiences with different oil change places. I've gone everywhere from a dealer to the valvoline instant oil change place. Valvoline I really like because they are so fast, and from my experience, they have done good work. They cost more, but you aren't stuck there for 1-2 hours waiting or have to come back for you car later on. The last oil change i went on my lunch break to a chain place and was sitting there for over 2 hours. Just to save some money - it really wasn't worth it to me. I drive a 2010 cobalt and just got my daughter a 2001 buick lesabre (hasn't needed an oil change yet just recently bought a few weeks ago).Where do you all get your oil changes done?
I go to my mechanic ever since I heard some horror stories about jiffy lube and people getting their oil plugs stripped by new guys. If the plug strips its no bog deal but if you damage the threads on the vehivle side.......oh boy!!!
Chain places are first come first serve and most of the workers aren't trained mechanics. You often hear stories of loose drain plugs and the worst I heard was the motor oil was replaced with transmission fluid. You can often schedule an appoint with a dealer or garage of your choice at a time that is convenient to you. The dealer changes my oil, checks and tops off all other fluid and tests the battery for only a few more dollars than doing it myself.Where do you all get your oil changes done?
My driveway.

Cheaper, better quality, and you can feel safer knowing you didn't screw anything up.

ANY TIME you buy a used car, change all the fluids immediately. It doesn't matter when it "may" be due, you have no idea how well the previous owner really took care of it. Change the oil immediately.
I do mine.

Really, all you need is a receptacle for the spent oil, a socket set for the oil drain plug, a funnel for the new oil if you are sloppy, a small piece of old carpet and a bottle jack.

But I also use 7500 mile oil, for older engines, so I don't have change as often. (Amsoil)

I've never had a customer complaint, except when I bash my knuckle every now and then!Where do you all get your oil changes done?
IL, and I go to a friends place. its very fast. I tend to go to the smaller places on the fact of better service. ive gone to bigger places and they always tend to let me down. so i say just try and go to privately owned places.
I run mine up on my ramps.
Yep do my own safer.
auto zone or quick lube something like that
We used to go to Jiffy Lube for our 98 Jeep Grand Cherokee. However since i got my license and have my own 98 Grand Cherokee now i have learned alot about them mechanicly.

I do the oil changes, and other fluid changes like differentials, transmissions, radiator ect myself. I prefer to do it myself as i like working on these Jeeps. I also like knowing what i put into the engine. I dont like relying on mechanics because most of them are crooks and lie. I've heared stories where shops ruined engines by forgetting to put oil into the engine after draining it.. If there is something i cant fix myself i bring it to the dealership. They are the only mechanics i trust

In fact i just changed the oil on my mom's Grand Cherokee this evening. I use Vavoline Synthetic Blend. That way we dont have to change it on spot every 3,000 miles. With a good synthetic or a blend you can usually do it around 5-7k miles. I changed hers at the 4500 mile mark.
