What can we get for our 1988 Buick LeSabre?

It only has 43,000 miles on it and is in great shape. Clean and runs nice. It was my Mom's car and our daughter drove it the last 4 yrs. NADA Guide states: $2900.- to $4525.- .

The white decal pin-striping needs to be taken off; it is all cracked; any ideas? The paint color is maroon.

Someone said use a hairdryer, but being so old and dried out, will that work? We have some Goo Gone. Will that harm the paint?

Thanks, Classic Car Buffs! What can we get for our 1988 Buick LeSabre?
43,000 miles is fantastic. But its value greatly depends on its condition.

And being so old its going to be very hard to find someone willing to pay $2900 for it.

Not sure on the pin stripes.

Probably be a good car to keep rather than sell. What can we get for our 1988 Buick LeSabre?

Has anyone from NADA come and taken a look at your car?

No?

Then why would their guide have anything to do with your specific car?

Seriously, think about it. How can you use their price as an appraisal, if they DID NOT appraise your car?

It's a 1988 Le Sabre. I can buy one on Craigslist for $1000, in excellent shape. Or $250 in poor shape. It's a worthless car, with no demand for it.

List your car as "taking offers" and see what people offer you. THAT is what it is worth. Not what a book says.

And yes, using a hair dryer will work. Google how to remove pin stripes. There's thousands of websites that talk about it.
First of all your link is to a Buick Century and NOT a Buick Lesabre. Second, books don't buy cars, money does. A 1988 Buick Lesabre wil have NO (zero) demand. I have a 2000 Buick Lesabre, 1 owner that I will sell for $4000. It is the new body style with the Series II motor which yours is not. If you where to look up a 1992 (4 years newer) it has a retail of $2612.00 That Buick is NO classic.

On your best day you might get $1500 to $2000.

I just sold a 1995 for $1400.00
