Can you really go by the rates in NADA guide they seem higher then the rest?

I think you can trust that they accurately report the prices that have been reported to them. However, I would not be surprised if they base their used car prices on what is reported to them by dealers, and since dealers tend to charge more that would make their prices higher than some other sources which include sales by individuals.
