I use three things both of what you have mentioned and my own eyes. A lot has to do with your part of the country. but both are pretty close I some times take the average of the both of them|||Though NADA and Kelly Blue Book are technically the "official" word when it comes to used car prices. However, a more accurate guage of the value of a given car can be mirrored in sales on auction sites like ebay. There, you have real-life cars being sold to real-life people and you KNOW that the buyers and sellers were willing to pay/accept that amount of cash.|||Neither. Most regions have a standard publisher they use to track the local auction market.
I've heard of:

www.blackbookusa.com

Ask your local dealer what guide they use. It'll be the only one worth worrying about. I've always said the only real value of your car is what the dealer will pay. Everything else is gravy...|||Neither. I would never take either as gospel, only as guides.
Above poster is correct. Take both values, figure on something in the middle.|||I take both and fail into the middle. It seems like NADA is a little high and KBB is a little low.
