Which model of ford ranger do I have?

When I run the vin it comes up as splash/xl/xlt, so I'm assuming it could be any of those. It was made in 98. This is kinda an important question because the truck was totaled and I am in a battle with the insurance company. I am trying to use te NADA guide but since I have to put in the specs myself it is hard to know which model to go by. Thanks|||It should say right on the side of the truck but if you can't find it, call any Ford service department, give them the VIN (the VIN plate is located at the bottom of the windshield, driver's side) and they can tell you what model it was from the VIN. The insurance company should already have the VIN and should already know what model it is...

IIRC the "Splash" version only came as a step-side, so if your rear wheel wells aren't flared out, you most likely don't have a Splash model.|||says it on the truck|||Run and get the truck's title. What year does it say on it?|||That would be the Ranger G.T., The GT stands for GOT TRICKED into buying a ranger, LOL Just kidding ford boy, you would have to decode the vin number, but you would no if was a splash they have body kits and exotic stripe kits and such . xlt models are tagged with emblems on the sail panels which is the panel right behind the door between the door and the bed the emblems say XLT, So it sounds like you have the xl.
