Why are so many Monterey 253 preowned boats listed at $30-35k when the NADA value is between $18-20k?

Have a friend wanting to buy one but the list prices seem all higher that the values. Can't figure out if these boats are just in demand and that is jacking the price up or what?|||A disease called greed. Or "Its worth what someone will pay for it"|||NADA really doesn't work for boats in quite the same way as for cars. consider the wide variety of configurations, and state of repair you find boats in. trailer might or might not be included, the engine might run like crap, the hull might leak, state of restoration, yada yada yada.





if it's worth $30 to the seller but not the buyer, then it won't be selling at $30, that I guarantee.|||I priced a good running Honda 10 hp long shaft at NADA and it came back $50.00.





So stuff is worth what you can get for it. Pretend you didn't even read NADA and go shopping again.
